Television news production, from the field to air
Five services cover filming, studio lighting, newsroom process, training and fast edit and delivery, each one built around a broadcast deadline.
Five ways we support your newsroom
-
Breaking News Crews
Camera operators and editors travel to the story, film it, cut it and file a broadcast-ready package while events are still moving. Daniel Okafor leads the crew work on exteriors and low light.
-
Studio Portrait Lighting
We design the lighting for presenter and interviewee set-ups so skin tones and eyes look natural under studio conditions, whether the set is permanent or a corner of a meeting room.
-
Newsroom Workflow Design
Priya Chauhan maps how footage, scripts and approvals travel through your newsroom, finds where stories wait, and rebuilds the route so each hand-off takes less time.
-
Camera Technique Training
Hands-on days for news shooters covering framing, handheld movement, exposure and sound. Sessions run on real equipment and finish with a review of the footage each person shot.
-
Rapid Edit and Delivery
Tom Pritchard edits against the clock, adds captions and delivers files in the formats your broadcaster asks for, with a copy kept in our archive.
Breaking News Crews: what a commission involves
This service suits regional broadcasters and producers who need a story filmed and cut quickly without sending their own staff. You brief us by phone, a crew goes out, and a finished package comes back in the format you specify.
Contact
- Briefing and location
- You tell us the story, the location, the deadline and the format. We confirm the crew size and kit in writing, so everyone knows who is attending and what they will bring.
- Filming on the ground
- The operator shoots interviews, cutaways and establishing shots with clean sound, keeping notes on timings and names so the edit does not stall on missing details.
- Cutting while the story develops
- An editor assembles the package from the first usable material and updates it as new footage arrives, working to your running order and duration.
- Filing and archive
- The finished package is filed in your requested format with captions if asked. We keep a working copy in our archive for an agreed period so repeats or re-cuts are simple.
Have the story outline, a named contact on site, your delivery specification and any access or accreditation details ready when you call.
From first call to delivered file
Every commission follows the same sequence, whether it is a single studio afternoon or a week of workflow review. The steps are short on purpose, and each one ends with something you can read and approve before we move on.
Enquiry through the contact page
You send the brief through the contact form: what you need, where, by when and in which format. A producer reads it and replies with questions if anything affects the plan, such as access, talent or sound conditions.
What you leave withA clear written understanding of the job and any open questions
Written quotation
We send a quotation listing what is included, the people involved and what could change the price, such as extra travel, additional crew or a shorter turnaround. Nothing starts until you have agreed it in writing.
What you leave withA quotation you can accept, query or adjust
Confirmation and planning
Once you confirm, we fix the date, crew, kit and delivery specification, and agree who on your side is the contact for approvals. For training and workflow work, we agree the agenda too.
What you leave withA confirmed plan with named people and a delivery specification
Production and edit
We film, light, train or review as agreed, and editing runs alongside where the job involves it. You see progress at the points we set in advance, so changes are raised early rather than at the end.
What you leave withFinished material, or a workflow review ready for discussion
Delivery, invoice and payment
Files go to you in the formats requested, and we send an invoice for payment by bank transfer. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy, which we point you to at confirmation.
