How we run

Working choices that shape every commission

A small team has to be deliberate about how it works. These are the habits we keep so that jobs run on time and clients always know who is responsible for what.

One named lead per job

Every commission has a single person responsible for it from the first message to the final file. Helen Marsden oversees editorial standards on all of them, but day to day you deal with the person doing the filming, lighting, editing or review. That keeps messages short and decisions quick. If the lead is on another job or travelling, we tell you who is covering rather than leaving the question unanswered.

Editorial standards come first

Helen produced regional television news for a decade before starting the company, and that background shapes how we treat accuracy. Names, titles and places are checked against what the interviewee said and what the producer supplied. Captions are proofread before delivery. If footage raises a doubt, such as an unclear location or a disputed claim, we flag it to your desk instead of cutting around it quietly.

Training that comes from practice

Our camera technique days draw on what Daniel and the crew do every week, so the examples are real situations: low light, a crowd, a moving subject, a noisy street. Participants shoot, review and reshoot on the day. Priya brings the same approach to newsroom workflow reviews, starting with how your people actually work and changing only what is slowing stories down.
